Biography

I have been a nurse for 26 years. I have worked mainly in the critical care setting (CCU, SICU, MICU, Cardiac Cath lab, and Telemetry). I returned to graduate school after five years of nursing experience and completed a MSN degree in 2000, with a Clinical Nurse Specialist track in Acute Care nursing. I continued working in critical care settings as a CNS and after 6 years I moved into an administrative role in the patient safety arena. I returned to school in September of 2010 entering a doctoral program and graduated May 2013 with my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. After graduating from the DNP program I decided that a change would be good and started a career in academia at Texas Woman's University.
