Linda Merritt holds a Ph.D. in Nursing Science from Texas Woman’s University, a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from Baylor University in Dallas and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College) in Ewing, N.J. She holds current licensure and certification in the State of Texas and formerly in New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio and Massachusetts. Specialty certifications include RNC-NIC (neonatal intensive care) nursing by the National Certification Corporation. She is also a certified nurse educator from the National League of Nursing. She has served Texas Woman’s University since 2018. Previously, as an El Centro nursing faculty, and taught in the nursing programs of Grayson County Community College in Denison, TX. and Collin College of McKinney, TX. She worked as a registered nurse in the NICU of Denton Regional Medical Center (Medical City Denton) in Denton, TX.; and as an RN II at Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital of Allen, TX.; as a staff nurse at Baylor Medical Center of Carrollton, TX.; and as a nurse manager at Beverly Hospital of Beverly, MA. She is a member of the National League of Nursing; Sigma Theta Tau International; the National Association of Neonatal Nurses; the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing; Southern Nursing Research Society; Council for Advancement of Nursing Science; and the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. She is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Advances in Neonatal Care and Neonatal Network, and a volunteer for Hand to Hold. She is a member of the Preemie Parent Alliance. She was inducted into Epsilon Omega Epsilon Honor Society in 2011 and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society in 2000.
