Biography

Eugenia (Gena) Welch, MSN, APRN, ACNS-BC is a Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. Ms. Welch graduated from Trinity Valley Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Science degree from Texas Christian University. Ms. Welch is a nationally certified advanced practice registered nurse, specifically an adult Clinical Nurse Specialist. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy program at the University of Texas at Tyler. Ms. Welch’s experience spans more than 30 years, primarily in acute and critical care nursing. She has also practiced in leadership, education and academic roles sharing her expertise and skill with students and practicing nurses. Ms. Welch has published papers in peer reviewed journals focused on cardiology and clinical practice. She has presented at local, regional and national venues specific to her area of practice and expertise. Ms. Welch’s area of research focus is in caring for aged individuals at the end-of-life including those in hospice and palliative care.
