Dr. Christie Acho is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Interim FNP Track Coordinator at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, TX. Her career in the healthcare industry started at University Teaching Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria, where she obtained her Associate degree in Nursing. She and her husband Dr. Sonny Acho, migrated to America for an advanced education and she continued on to get her BSN at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. As a Registered Nurse, she worked in the ICU department at Parkland Hospital and after her children had all gone to college, Dr. Acho decided to further her education and earn a degree as a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner also at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX.

Dr. Acho realized the greatest way to make an impact in her industry and in the future of preventative healthcare is to educate others to follow these same best practices. She decided to go back to school to earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Chatham University in Pittsburg, PA.

While at Texas Woman’s University, Dr. Acho has course led and taught several courses in the Nursing department to include:

Family Health Nursing I

Dr. Christie Acho has been married for 38 years to her loving husband, Dr. Sonny Acho. They have 4 beautiful children and 5 dynamic grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys watching sports with her family, singing, and cooking delicious Nigerian food!
