My research expertise is in the areas of research methodology and statistical methods. I am particularly interested in the psychometrics of outcome measures when working with patient populations with variable performance parameters. I enjoy mentoring both DPT and PhD students in the research process and am regularly engaged in research collaborations at Texas Children's Hospital. I teach in both the DPT and PhD programs, and serve as the Coordinator of Post-Professional Studies for the School of Physical Therapy (Houston campus). In the DPT program, I teach the internal medicine and research methods courses. In the PhD program, I teach the advanced statistics and applied statistics courses as well as a computer applications course for physical therapy researchers. Prior to transitioning to academia, I worked primarily in acute care and with individuals with neurologic diagnoses. For a list of my recent peer-reviewed publications and presentations, please see my CV.
