Biography

Dr. Emarely Rosa-Dávila is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and its undergraduate program director for the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Woman’s University. She also holds appointments as Affiliate Faculty of Psychology and in the Woodcock Institute at Texas Woman’s University. She has over 20 years of experience as a practitioner in mental health, specializing in children and adolescents and 12 in higher education. Her research focuses on mental health and culturally competent practices in the Hispanic-Latinx community living in the United States. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Mental Health and Social BehaviourJournal of Social Work in the Global CommunityVoces del Trabajo Social, and Ámbito de Encuentros. In addition, Dr. Rosa-Dávila is an Executive Leadership Academy fellow (Class 2021) from UC-Berkeley and a New Leadership Academy fellow (Class 2017) from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao campus, a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) with specialization in Families with Children and Adolescents, and a Ph.D. in Social-Community Psychology, both from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus.
