The Say Their Names Memorial is a nationwide initiative to honor Black lives lost to racial injustice, police brutality, and racism. The memorial was started in Portland, Oregon, on Juneteenth 2020, and has been put up in over 30 locations nationwide since then. Our aim is to facilitate conversation around systemic racism while honoring those lives taken by it.
The Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Outreach will host the Say Their Names Memorial on-campus in recognition of Juneteenth. The memorial will be available from Thursday, June 16, through Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the TWU Gardens.
Say their names. Remember their faces. Tell their stories.
