Increased attention has been drawn to the growing political power of women of color in the United States. This is in part due to their significant strides at attaining electoral office. Beyond office holding, political participation rates for women of color have also increased dramatically, exceeding increases for their male counterparts. As a result, women of color are poised to dramatically influence American politics by gaining more political authority and voting power.
