Description
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a national holiday celebrating the birthday and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. held on the third Monday of January. In Dr. King's memory, MLK Day of Service commemorates his activism and public service. TWU Civic Engagement encourages students, faculty and staff to make this holiday a day ON rather than a day OFF.
This year, the Center for Student Development and the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach want to encourage students to engage in an educational event that will help them understand social issues and concepts with a plan of action on how to make an impact. This service-based event will consist of working groups led by facilitators on respective topics and collaborative group planning of how to actualize the concepts in the community.
Student Organizations — as well as individual students — are encouraged to sign up to this Zoom event!
